Senior Photos – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Hello. Thank you for considering me as your professional photographer for your Senior pictures. I have included below answers to frequently asked questions about Senior photography.
What does the photo shoot consist of?
The shoot consists of two parts. The cap and gown pictures and the informal shoot.
The cap and gown pictures are taken with a backdrop and several poses will be done. The informal shoot can be taken the same day or a different day which takes approximately an hour to an hour and a half. The location can be of your choice and often individuals choose a park setting.
What should I wear for the informal shoot?
You may have one change of clothing. It is best to stay away from plaids or excessive lines. Solids seem to look best.
Can I use the photos you take for the high school album?
I believe the high school has its own photographer that will take Senior pictures for the school's yearbook, and you cannot use mine as a substitute. However you are free to use the cap & gown pictures from my photo session as an addition for your own use.
What does your package consist of?
(3) 8x10, (3) 5x7, and (20) 4x6
All photos can be different. All pictures are processed by a professional photo-finishing lab to assure the highest quality and longevity. Please make an appointment to discuss additional packages.
You will also receive a CD of all the digital negatives and from this you can make additional prints.
How much is the deposit?
The deposit is $100 and that will hold the date for you. The $100 is applied to the package and the balance is due the day of the photo session.
How many pictures do you take?
During the cap and gown pictures, I take approximately 20 pictures. During the informal shoot I take about 100 pictures.
Do you offer different backgrounds?
Yes I do. I offer the Virtual Background system which is a state of the art system. Your graduate will have a choice of backgrounds that will go with his/her outfit and style. These backgrounds will be chosen in the studio, and I am confident that you will find one that suits your needs.
What kinds of backgrounds do you offer?
No other photographer in El Paso offers this type of background system system. A background of your choice is projected onto a screen which will complement the type of portrait that you are seeking. Before the the photoshoot if there is a type of scene in the El Paso area that you like, it can be made into your background to encorporate into your portrait at no extra charge. Please call me for more details about this wonderful system.
Are you the only photographer?
I often train other photographers who may accompany me and take photos. I carefully screen their photos and use only the ones I approve and those photos remain my property. I do not charge extra for an additional photographer unless the bride and groom specifically request an additional professional. Any extra photos from a photographer in training is just a plus for you.
What else do I get?
To summarize, you will be pleased to know that you will receive the following:
1. A CD of all digital negatives.
2. A personalized DVD slideshow of 75 your favorite photos of the entire shoot.
3. A link to the slideshow to show friends and family that is good for one year.
4. The slideshow that is formatted to play on your smartphone.
Will I receive a disk of the digital files?
Yes, you will receive a CD of all the digital files that gives you the right to make extra prints as needed. I will provide a release form in case you need to present it at the photo lab of your choice since all photos are copyrighted by the photographer.
Do you print your own photos?
No. All photos are processed by a professional photo lab to assure the highest color quality and longevity.
What is the slideshow?
You will choose 60 pictures from the informal shoot, and I will make a slideshow that is approximately 7 to 8 minutes long with special transition effects. I will encorporate into the slideshow two song selections of your choice. Also included in the slideshow will be the cap and gown pictures of your choice.
Thank you again for inquiring about Senior pictures. I'm sure that you will find that other photographers do not offer the value, quality and offerings that go into the Senior package.
Sincerely,
Armando Martinez
